My, How the Mighty Have Fallen

The costs of subsidizing solar electricity have exceeded the 100-billion-euro mark in Germany, but poor results are jeopardizing the country's transition to renewable energy. The government is struggling to come up with a new concept to promote the inefficient technology in the future.
From grey-clad storm troopers threatening to take over every square inch of Europe, to green-clad lunatics ... historians are not going to be kind to the standard bearers of European utopian-ism. It's amazing that one country can be so amazingly industrial and inventive, while at the same time being catastrophically foolish in its reckless pursuit of utopian ideals.

I'd like to see them running their extensive railroad system on solar and windmills. Of course, they'll be all virtuous and buy their power from France (nuclear). Hypocrites.
