At the risk of agreeing with Ron Paul, Santorum was being "overly sensitive" about his criticisms of federal funds to hospitals which could be used for abortion instead of more conventional birth control methods. I thought Paul's intended target was Newt, not Santorum. Paul made Santorum look silly when he said, "I wasn't even thinking of you."... but this man does:
"But then, there is the "progressive" class ... that aimless mass of Western humanity so burdened by cultural self-loathing that it is to Islam, as ungulates are to lions."

The Art of Being Sanctimonious
Rare is the person who can deliver sanctimony in a way that doesn't cause those hearing it to recoil. Maybe "sanctimony" is the wrong term ... maybe "righteous anger" or "high dudgeon" are better.
Whatever the case, Santorum ain't got it:

Newt is massively sanctimonious while at the same time committing the very sins of which he complains. He has no shame.
Juxtaposing Politician and Shame is an oxymoron. Gingrich is telling the media to shut-up and do their job at a crucial moment in the primaries. Good for him, shame or no shame. If we are going to point the finger at anyone for shamelessness I think we should be pointing the finger at the MSM.
Remember that the past is only worth looking into when there are Republicans to attack. The media make themselves look more like idiots when people ask the questions why they are interviewing an ex-wife from 13 years ago on one hand, but not asking why they can't see the current president's scholastic records, just as an example. They have no shame in attacking those they see as a threat to the "progressive" establishment. If it goes against the orthodoxy of liberalism then damn the facts, they will even make them up, a la Dan Rather and memogate. Here is a wonderful link that shows the mentality that makes up much of the liberal media's thought process:

Yes, the MRC is biased, but at least they can back up their assertions with facts. Can't say the same about CBS :)
I like Newt and agree with John Doe.
My worry is that like Sarah Palin - he may be 'too good' at it. The media won't take this, and much as it grates on me to say it, they won't take this lying down. Newt is making very powerful enemies.
Mind you, conservatives really have no other choice these days.
Were I American, Newt would be my candidate for the GOP and for President. The man's personal life may be a mess but he has the right idea otherwise.
